What is XRfolio?

XRfolio is a 3D portfolio builder that runs in a web browser. You build a small 3D room, place your projects in it as objects, and each object opens a case study with your images, video, writing and links. The finished portfolio is a real website: free at you.xrfolio.page, on your own domain with Pro for $9 a month, or downloaded as static files you host anywhere. You don’t need an account to start building, and you don’t need 3D experience.

Who it is for

Anyone whose work is easier to show than to describe: 3D artists, game and XR developers, architects, interior and product designers, engineers, and students looking for a first job. It works just as well for flat work. Posters, screenshots, video and PDFs hang in the room like they would in a studio, and the room is what people remember.

How it works

  1. Open the builder. It runs in a browser tab with nothing to install and no sign-up. A guided tutorial builds a first room with you in about ten minutes.
  2. Pick a room. Start from a template, a blank room, or rooms and objects from the model library, which other people share with a credit line.
  3. Add your projects. Drop in images (PNG, JPEG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, SVG), video (MP4, WebM) and 3D models (.glb, .gltf, .fbx, .obj). Turn any object into a project and write its case study.
  4. Publish. Press Publish, pick your address, and it goes live at you.xrfolio.page. Or download the site and host it yourself; both routes produce the same files.

What visitors get

A room they can look around in, on a laptop or a phone, where every object opens the full write-up for that project. Every published site also carries a written version of the same portfolio as an ordinary web page. That version is what search engines and AI assistants read, what screen readers use, and what a recruiter in a hurry can skim.

What it costs

Limits worth knowing

  • Uploads up to 150 MB per file on Free and 400 MB on Pro. Models are compressed in your browser before upload; a 65 MB source model typically comes out at a few hundred kilobytes.
  • Storage counts the compressed files, not the originals: 32 MB on Free, 256 MB on Pro.
  • Images and video load when a visitor opens a project, so they do not slow the room down. The 3D room itself is the first download; a sample portfolio with 25 projects loads about 9 MB up front.

What it is not

XRfolio is not a general website builder: there is no store, blog or booking calendar. It is not a social network either. There is a small public gallery, but nobody browses XRfolio the way they browse Behance, so it is worth keeping a profile there too and linking the two. See XRfolio vs. Behance vs. Squarespace.

Common questions

Do I need to know 3D modeling to use XRfolio?

No. You can start from a template room or a blank room and fill it from the shared model library. If you do make 3D models, XRfolio accepts .glb, .gltf, .fbx and .obj files and compresses them in your browser.

Is XRfolio free?

Building is free and needs no account. A free account publishes one site at you.xrfolio.page with a small "Built with XRfolio" badge. Pro costs $9 a month for three sites, your own domain, more storage, and no badge.

Can I use my own domain?

Yes, on Pro. You add the domain in the dashboard and point a DNS record at it. HTTPS is included.

Can I leave XRfolio and keep my portfolio?

Yes. You can download the finished site as ordinary static files for a one-time $49, or $19 if you are on Pro, and host it on Cloudflare Pages, Netlify, Vercel, GitHub Pages or any web server. It keeps working without XRfolio.

Can search engines read a 3D portfolio?

Every published XRfolio also includes a written version of the same portfolio as a plain web page, with your name, role and every project as text. That is the page search engines and AI assistants read, and any visitor can open it instead of the 3D room.

Who makes XRfolio?

XRfolio is made by XRTech, a small software studio in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Try it without an account. The builder opens in a browser tab, and the tutorial walks you through a first room in about ten minutes.
